SOCIAL WORK PRACTICE IN AUSTRALIA

Mangalore: Srinivas University Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities organised a Guest Lecture on Social work Practice in Australia, Career opportunities and Challenges on December 17, 2022 at Srinivas University City Campus Pandeshwar.

The resource person Senior Social worker- The Department for Child Protection Government of South Australia Mr. Joby Mathew and the Disability Support officer Department of Human Services Government of South Australia Ms. Renji Joby explained the career challenges in Australia as well as India. 

Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities Dean, Dr. Laveena Dmello presided over the program. Program faculty convenor Dr.Pradeep M.D., Dr. Vidya N., Prof. Joyson Prenky Cardoza, Prof. Sushmitha S. Kotian, Prof. Shreeraj S. Acharya, Student Convenor Arun Kuriakose were present. 

MSW, BSW and BA Journalism and Mass Communication students actively participated in the session.

NSS SHRAMADHAN

Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities NSS forum Organised Shramadhan program at Womens PU college Carstreet on 14 December 2022. 30 students from Institute of Social sciences and Humanities Actively participated in the Shramadhan program.

NSS Faculty Convener Prof.Sushmitha and Prof.Joyson Prenky Cardoza were present.

ISSH Celebrates 73rd Constitution Day Of India

Pandeshwara : Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, Srinivas University has Celebrated 73rd Constitution Day of India on 26th November 2022. 

Professor Meghashree, Institute of Port Shipping, Supply Chain Management, Srinivas University was the Resource Person of the Programme,  Dr. Pradeep M. D, Associate Professor, Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, Srinivas University presided over the programme.

The preamble of Indian Constitution was displayed in the notice board. The resource person oriented on Fundamental Rights and Duties. Students took an oath to up held the Constitutional values in their day to day life.

The vote of thanks was offered by Irish Fernandes, Student of Journalism and Mass Communication, Programme was hosted by Shreyas Shenoy, Student of  Social Work.

Programme Coordinator,  Professor Joyson Prenky Cardoza, professor Shreeraj S. Acharya, Research Scholar Shivaraj G. And Students of Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities were present at the Programme.

Workshop on Basic Lighting Techniques

Mangaluru, 18th October, 2022: Direction, quality, lighting ratio, and control, Each of these elements contribute to the overall effect of our lighting and need to be considered when we design our lighting, said Mr. Adithya Kumar, Asst. Professor, Digital Film Making and VFX, Srinivas University on Tuesday. He was during the workshop on "Basic Lighting Techniques" organized by Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities of Srinivas University. He also explained about Art of Lighting, Lighting and colour can be used as visual tools to create meaning, and to create a sense of depth and three-dimensionality. Both help to establish mood and atmosphere and can highlight and define certain objects and characters to code a story. He added. Dr. Laveena D'mello, Dean of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities presided over the workshop, Asst. Professor Shreeraj S Acharya, Coordinator of the Workshop, Asst. Professor Joyson, Research Scholar Shivaraj were present in the workshop. Student Soumi introduced the Resource Person, Vidhya Sree welcomed the guest,  Workshop was hosted by George, Vote of thanks was offered by Adithya. Students of the Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication were actively participated in the workshop.

Exposure Visit to SDM Mangala Jyothi Integrated School, Anirvedha Foundation and Varthabharathi News Paper

Mangaluru, 15th September, 2022: Student of  Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities Visited SDM Mangala Jyothi Integrated School, Vamanjuru, Anirvedha Foundation and Varthabharathi News Paper. Ganesh Bhat, Administrative Officer and Guruprasad, Speech Therapist of Mangala Jyothi Integrated School, Briefly explained about School, as well as Training Pattern to Special Disabled Children. In Anirvedha Foundation, Shwetha, Head of the foundation and Seema Coordinator, briefed about Physiotherapy and Counseling, Which was Informative. B M Bashir, News Editor, Varthabharathi Newspaper and Shabir, In charge, Varthabharathi Digital, elaborated Students How the whole News Desk work and How the Digital Media work takes place. Associate Professor  Dr. Vidya N, Assistant Professor. Shreeraj S. Acharya and Students of 1st Year BA Journalism and Mass Communication, 1st Year Bachelor of Social Work, Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, were present.

Exposure Visit to Srinivas Hospital and Vijayavani

Mangaluru 14th September, 2022: Students of Srinivas University from the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities visited Srinivas Hospital, Mukka and VRL Media Private Ltd (Vijayavani Newspaper). Raveena, Senior Executive, Operations and Nirosha, Patient Care Coordinator of Srinivas Hospital, Briefly explained the various Departments and facilities of the Hospital. In VRL Media Private Ltd, Surendra Vaghle, Bureau Head of Mangalore Vijayavani Newspaper, briefed about News Desk. Santhosh Krishna, Sub Editor of Vijayavani, thought students how the whole pre-press works take place and How to create the Page layout, which was informative to students. And Anantharam, Manager, Printing Department of Vijayavani, briefed about Printing process and Explained to students how the whole printing process takes place. Assistant Professors Sushmitha,  Joyson Prenkey Cardosa & Shreeraj S. Acharya, Students of 1st and 3rd year BA Journalism and Mass Communication, 1st year Bachelor of Social Work, Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities were Present.
