Srinivas
University under its Unnat Bharat Abhiyan forum and its sponsored NGO ‘Srinivas
Institute of Rural Reconstruction Agency’ (SIRRA) has organized “Holi
Celebration” at Zilla Panchayat Model Higher Primary School, Chelairu,
Mangalore on 27th March 2021. The Zilla Panchayat Model Higher
Primary School, Chelairu has been adopted by the University under the Government
School adoption programme of Government of Karnataka. The programme aims at
creating awareness among the school children about ‘Holi Festival’ and to
motivate student participation by organizing ‘Water Games’. The programme was inaugurated Dr. Vidya N, Professor of
College of Social Sciences and Humanities, Srinivas University with a novel way of distributing “Face Mask”
to the participants. Mr. Ganesh Ganapathi Bhat and Ms. Yakshitha
Shetty, students of Social Work provided information about Holi festival. Several Games such as ‘Coin in Water’, ‘Gems
Pick’, ‘Biscuit Grab’, ‘Searching the Coin’ were organized to the school
children. The winners of the games were awarded with prizes at the end of the
programme. Mrs. Krishnaveni, Head
Mistress, Teachers and PTA Members were present during the occasion. The
programme was organized by keeping the Covid 19 protocol in mind and sufficient
Social Distancing was maintained wherever necessary along with other safety
precautions. Twelve (12) School children
of 6th and 7th standard and 20 M.S.W. students have
participated in the event.
