REPORT ON CRICKET MATCH TOURNMENT

 Mangalore: Srinivas University Institute of Management and Commerce, Department of Social Sciences and Humanities organized Interclass Cricket Tournament on 27th November 2024 at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil ground.

The session was graced by physical director, Prof. Supriya Adiga, started with inauguration and commenced a Women’s cricket team for both first and second year and men’s cricket for first and second year. The first match started with two teams from first year girls and for second year girls, and for first year and second year boys also. First year boys and girls are declared as winners and second year as runners. A trophy has been given to first year as winners and second year as runners.





















CELEBRATED CONSTITUTION DAY

Mangalore: Srinivas University Institute of Management and Commerce, Department of Social Sciences and Humanities organized Constitution Day program Samvidhan Divas on 26th November 2024 at city campus Pandeshwara.  

The session was graced by Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sathyanarayana Reddy has given a speech on constitution, and discussed some of the amendments in constitutions. Dr. Venkatesh S. Amin, Dean, Institute of Management and Commerce, has given a speech on equality, equity of a nation. Prof. Prashanth Prabhu, Dean, Insttuute of Hotel Management and Tourism and Dr. Padmanabha C.H Dean, Institute of Education, Prof.Joyson, Head of the MSW department, Prof. Sushmitha S. Kotian Head of the B.A. Journalism & Mass Communication department were present.  

The preamble has been pledged in the occation. This event was successful and students also gained knowledge on insights of Indian constitution. Dr. Laveena DMello, Prof. Ranjith Bhat, Prof. Prajna B., Prof. Karthik Nair were present.

IMPORTANCE OF YOGA IN MODERN DAY LIFE STYLE

 

On November 21st, 2024, the Institute of Management and Commerce, Department of Social Sciences and Humanities at Srinivas University, Mangalore, organized a yoga session for its MSW (Master of Social Work) students. The session was graced by Dr. Venkatesh S. Amin, Dean, Institute of Management and Commerce, along with the resource person Prof. Lalan Kumar, Assistant Professor, Institute of Port and Logistics. Resource person shared valuable insights on the topic "The Importance of Yoga in Modern Day Practice." He elaborated on how yoga plays a crucial role in today's fast-paced and stressful world, highlighting its benefits for both physical and mental well-being. He emphasized that practicing yoga can help manage stress, improve concentration, and maintain emotional balance skills that are particularly important for social work professionals who are constantly engaged in emotionally taxing environments. Following the insightful talk, a practical yoga session was conducted for the students, providing them with an opportunity to engage in the practice and experience the benefits firsthand. This event was a meaningful step in promoting holistic well-being and self-care practices among students, preparing them for the challenges in both their personal and professional lives. The program has been organized under the guidance of Dr. Venketesh S Amin, Dean-IMC and Prof.Joyson, Head of the department. Prof Ranjith Bhat, were present. The session was compered by Ms. Bhoomika, delivered the welcome speech. Prayer done by Ms.  and vote of thanks by Mr. Fawas and bringing the event to a meaningful close.

REPORT ON EDUCATIONAL VISIT-SRINIVAS HOSPITAL

 

On November 15th, 2024, the Institute of Management and Commerce, Department of Social Sciences and Humanities at Srinivas University in Mangalore conducted Educational Visit Srinivas Hospital. This fieldwork was conducted as part of the curriculum to enhance practical knowledge, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to societal developmental activities. The purpose was also to engage with real-world challenges in the university-associated departments and communities, applying theoretical knowledge in a practical setting. During the visit, students learned about medical departments like OPD, X-Ray, Psychiatric department, Pediatric department, and other department inclusive of all other departments. The students have been guided by MR. Daron-Operational executive and MS. Swathi-HR Executive. The educational visit has been guided by Dr. Venkatesh S Amin, Dean-IMC and Prof.Joyson, Head of the department. Prof.Ranjith Bhat were present.

PARTICIPATORY RURAL APPRISAL

 

On November 13th, 2024, the Institute of Management and Commerce, Department of Social Sciences and Humanities at Srinivas University in Mangalore conducted an insightful guest talk for MSW (Master of Social Work) students. The session was graced by Prof. Deepika sanil and Prof.Ramya. B who shared valuable insights on the topic-Participatory Rural Appraisal, in that resource persons has explained about Participatory Rural Appraisal with regards to social work. The session began with a warm welcome and an introduction to the esteemed speaker. Prof. Deepika and Prof.Ramya B emphasized the participatory leadership action with regards to participatory rural appraisal. Her speech was followed by an interactive activity that allowed students to engage in practical exercises designed to enhance their practical social work activities Activities conducted related to Social mapping, Trans analysis and wealth analysis, which encouraged active participation and teamwork. Throughout the session, students were highly engaged, contributing to discussions and activities that deepened their understanding of how communication skills can be applied across various professional contexts. The session was compered by Ms. Bhoomika, delivered the welcome speech by Ms. Rakshitha saliyan Prayer by Ms. Nidhi and vote of thamks by Ms. Sushmitha. and bringing the event to a meaningful close. The entire guest talk provided MSW students with valuable insights into the importance of communication in building both professional relationships and personal development. This enriching experience reinforced the importance of social work as an essential tool for success in the dynamic and evolving professional world. ENHANCING THE SKILL OF COMMUNICATION


On November 12th, 2024, the Institute of Management and Commerce, Department of Social Sciences and Humanities at Srinivas University in Mangalore conducted an insightful guest talk for MSW (Master of Social Work) students. The program has been organized under the guidance of Dr. Venketesh S Amin, Dean-IMC and Prof.Joyson, Head of the department, Prof Ranjith Bhat, Dr. Lavenna DNello and Dr. Vidya. The session was graced by Prof. Deepak J from IMC, who shared valuable insights on the significance of communication skills in the professional world. The session began with a warm welcome and an introduction to the esteemed speaker. Prof. Deepak emphasized the critical role that strong communication skills play in personal and professional development. His speech was followed by an interactive activity that allowed students to engage in practical exercises designed to enhance their communication abilities. These activities included a Robotic Command Role Play and a Strategic Building Game, which encouraged active participation and teamwork.
