On March 8, 2025, the first-year students of the Department of Social Science and Humanities under the Institute of Management and Commerce from Srinivas University, Mangalore, undertook an industrial visit to Gurucharan Industries in Mangaluru, Karnataka. The visit was undertaken under the guidance of Dr.Venkatesh S.Amin, Dean IMC, Prof.Joyson P.Cardoza,Head of the Department. Dr.Stutima Basistha, Associate Professor,Ranjith Bhat,Assistant Professor, assisted the students for the visit.
Objective of the Visit: The primary aim of this industrial visit was to provide first-year students with practical insights into the operations of a prominent plastic machinery manufacturing industry, thereby bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world industrial practices.

Visit Details: Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by Mr. Gadhri Vailu, the HR Manager of Gurucharan Industries. He commenced the tour by providing an overview of the company's history, mission, and product range. The students were then guided through various departments, including:
Manufacturing Unit: Observation of the production processes involved in creating plastic processing machinery.
Assembling Unit: Insight into the assembly line where different components are integrated to form the final products.
Throughout the tour, Mr. Vailu elaborated on the functionalities and applications of various machines, offering students a comprehensive understanding of the operational workflow. He also discussed the organizational structure, workforce details, operational methodologies, and marketing strategies employed by the company.
