International Women's Day program-06-03-2025

 The Department of Social Science and Humanities under the Institute of Management and Commerce (IMC) organized a programme on the 6th of March 2025 in celebration of International Women’s Day, which is observed annually on the 8th of March.

The event started with a motivational talk by Dr. Venkatesh S. Amin, Dean of IMC, who shared insightful words on the significance of the day. The programme was graced by the presence of Dr. Sonia Noronha, Dean of the Institute of Port, Shipping, and Logistics Management, who spoke on the importance of gender equality and women’s empowerment. Additionally, Dr. Shailashree, Research Coordinator, IMC, motivated the students with her invaluable thoughts. The presence of Dr. Kavyashree, HoD of MBA, and Prof.Sagar, HoD of the Institute of Port, Shipping, and Logistics Management, added to the significance of the event.

The programme was further enriched by the presence of the Guest of Honor, Sachitha Nandagopal, a multifaceted individual dedicated to education, social activism, and mental wellness. As a teacher, social activist, youth leadership mentor, change influencer, motivational speaker, soft skills trainer, Toastmaster, Bharatanatyam and folk dancer, and choreographer, she has made remarkable contributions to society. She co-founded the Centre for Integrated Learning (CIL) along with her husband, Srinivasan Nandagopal, a senior journalist.

The event featured a felicitation ceremony for the dignitaries, followed by the guest speech and a student dance performance dedicated to the cause of women. Lastly, we had an interactive session conducted by the Guest of Honor, where she engaged students through various interactive modes, making it an enriching experience.
