Soft Skills and Communication Training:Srinivas Hospital

 

On 16/01/2026, Srinivas Hospital, in collaboration with the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, organized a Soft Skills and Communication Training Programme for the non-teaching staff of the Srinivas Hospital. The resource person for the programme was Dr. Venkatesh S. Amin, Dean, Institute of Management and Commerce and Institute of Shipping and Logistics Management, Srinivas University. As part of the training, interactive group activities were conducted. Participants were divided into small groups and assigned tasks that required teamwork, coordination, effective communication, and problem-solving skills. The programme was designed to enhance communication abilities, professional behaviour, and essential soft skills among the participants, particularly in healthcare and academic work environments. The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. David, Medical Superintendent, Srinivas Hospital, Prof. Joyson, Head of the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, and Mrs. Shwetha, HR, Srinivas Hospital. Prof. Ranjith Bhat, Assistant Professor, and Prof. Ravi Kumar, Placement Coordinator, Srinivas University, were also present on the occasion. MSW students actively participated in organizing and coordinating the programme, contributing to its successful execution.





Skill Development Programme


 The Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, Institute of Management and Commerce, Srinivas University organized an alumni guest talk on 17/01/2026 for first-year MSW students. Ms. Thripthi Dinesh and Mr. Niranjan interacted with the students and shared their experiences and struggles in securing employment after completing their MSW. The session was highly informative and motivating, providing valuable insights into career opportunities and professional challenges in the field of social work. The students actively participated in the discussion and clarified their doubts regarding career planning and skill development.





Community Visit :Srinivas Hospital



On 16/01/2026, the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, Institute of Management and Commerce, Srinivas University conducted a community visit in Inna Village (Munkuru) and Kinnigoli city. A total of 102 houses were surveyed during the visit. The programme witnessed the active participation of MSW students along with Prof. Joyson, Head of the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities; Prof. Ranjith Bhat, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Sciences and Humanities; Mrs. Shwetha (HR), Srinivas Hospital; and Mr. Sadhananda and Mr. Avinash from the Marketing Department. Overall, 29 MSW students actively participated in the survey and community interaction activities.

On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, Srinivas University Institute of Management and Commerce, Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, organized a Rangoli programme at Srinivas Hospital on 13/01/2026. First-year MSW students actively participated in the event and showcased their creativity and enthusiasm. The programme aimed to promote cultural awareness and traditional values among students.

Such activities encourage teamwork, social responsibility, and community engagement.

Christmas celebration: Srinivas Hospital


 On 19/12/2025, Srinivas University, Institute of Management and Commerce, Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, in collaboration with Srinivas Hospital, organized a Christmas and New Year celebration at Srinivas Hospital. The program began with an inaugural speech, followed by a Santa clause dance. The event was coordinated across all departments and wards, during which gifts were distributed to patients. This was followed by a treasure hunt game for the hospital staff, cake cutting, and cultural performances including dances and songs by various departments and MSW students.

The program was conducted under the guidance of Dr. David, Medical Superintendent, Srinivas Hospital, and Prof. Joyson, Head of the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, Institute of Management and Commerce, Srinivas University. Dr Laveena Dmello and Dr Stutima Bassista and  Mrs. Shwetha (HR, Srinivas Hospital), and MSW students actively organized and contributed to the successful conduct of the event.

Community visit


 On 17/12/2025, the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities (MSW), Institute of Management and Commerce, Srinivas University, conducted a series of community visits in Munchoor, Madya Padava, Chelairu, and Chelairu Padava as part of the orientation programme and hospital marketing activities. The programme was accompaniment of Prof. Joyson, HoD, Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, Institute of Management and Commerce, Srinivas University. MSW first-year and second-year students actively participated, and a total of 150 houses were covered in one day. This series of community visits will continue on 18/12/2025 and 20/12/2025 in other communities.

Freshers' Day - 2025

  Report on Freshers’ Day(Fresh-O-Mania)– Department of Social Sciences & Humanities

Fresh-O-Mania, MSW Freshers’ Day was organized with the intention of formally welcoming the newly admitted 1st year MSW students, helping them feel included, comfortable, and connected to the academic community. It provided a platform for new students to interact, build bonds, and understand the vibrant culture of the department.
The students of the Master of Social Work (MSW) program under the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities organized Freshers’ Day on 6th December 2025 to officially welcome the incoming batch of 1st year MSW students. The program was held at Room 003 in the Engineering Block of Srinivas University. The event was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Anil Kumar, Registrar, Srinivas University, Dr. Jayashree Bolar, Assistant Registrar, Srinivas University and with the continuous support of Prof. Joyson Prenky Cardoza HoD ,Dr. Laveena D’Mello ,Prof. Ranjith Bhat.
The programme was efficiently coordinated by Dr. Stutima Basistha, Cultural Coordinator, who ensured that all activities were well-planned and smoothly executed. The event began ceremoniously by invoking the blessings of the Almighty. This was followed by an insightful and motivational address by Dr. Jayashree Bolar, along with encouraging words from other faculty members who emphasized academic excellence, personal growth, and active participation in departmental activities. A variety of cultural performances and interactive games were beautifully planned, designed, and presented by the 2nd year MSW students on 6th dec 2025, showcasing their creativity and teamwork. These activities added vibrancy to the event and helped foster a sense of belonging among the new students.
