Expert Talk on Elderly Abuse and Its Prevention by Mrs. Sulekaha K

 


Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities under the Gerontological Social Work Forum has organised expert talk on the topic 'Elderly Abuse and Its Prevention' by Mrs. Sulekah K, Psychiatric Social Worker and Manager, Elderly Help Line, Bangalore. The online meet was presided over by Dr. Laveena D Mello, Dean of Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, Dr. Pradeep M.D. Coordinator, Gerontological Social Work Forum, Prof. Devasenan, Dean Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Prof. Priyadarshini, Assistant Professor, Allied Health Sciences, Srinivas University, Ms. Chippy Sebastian, Social Worker, Nightingales Medical Trust, bengaluru. Students Ms. Sanjana has invoked the blessings of the almighty, The Master of Ceremany was performed by Ms. Shreenidhi Nayak and Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mr. Jeevan. Almost 87 students from Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities and Institute of Allied Health Sciences and Research Scholars from Psychology discipline have attended the event.  

About the Resource Person: Sulekha .K is a Psychiatric Social Worker based in Bengaluru with over 27 years of working experience as counselor, counseling supervisor , trainer and experience in managing  different projects . Currently working at Elders Helpline Line -1090 as a Manager, Elders Helpline is established in 2002, it’s a project of the Bengaluru City Police and Nightingales Medical Trust an NGO with a long association and experience in caring for elders. Qualified and committed social workers, counselors, dutiful police and service – minded volunteers render a variety of reliable services that could be utilized by elders. All the services of the helpline are rendered free .
