Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities celebrates International Women's Day
Mangalore: International women's day was celebrated at Srinivas University Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities in its Pandeshwar campus on Wednesday, March 8.
Addressing the gathering Research Professor, Srinivas University, Dr. Manjula KT said, "We can't have women’s freedom without the support of men. It's important to have women's day to make us and others remember gender equality and rights in society. India admitted women much before other countries, which is a great moment for all Indians. Do we have gender equality today? No, if so, we wouldn't celebrate international women's day every year. We should avoid having gender differences and caste differences in our society."
Dean of Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, Dr. Laveena Dmello, in her presidential remark said, "This is the day to recharge ourselves and to know about the rights of women. The theme for the year 2023 is "digit all innovation and technology for gender equality". Equality doesn't mean we are superior to another gender."
