“Spandhana” School Visit

Location: Lions Club School for Special Children, Surathkal
Objective:
To engage with special children through recreational activities and interactive sessions aimed at fostering their social and emotional development.
Summary:
MSW students from Srinivas University’s Department of Social Science and Humanities organized a program titled “Hearts of Gold” at the Lions Club School for Special Children, Surathkal. The visit, part of their field work, began at 9:30 AM with a formal permission meeting with the school’s President, Mr. Keshav Salian, and Secretary, Mr. Jeevan Beliyappa.
The main program commenced post-lunch at 12:30 PM, introduced by a welcome speech from Miss Merlin Joy and emceed by Mr. Irfan. Activities included:
Song performance by Mr. Snehith
Group dance by MSW students
Interaction and play sessions with the special children
Games such as musical chairs and balloon color games
Skill-based activity sheets (coloring, number matching, etc.)
The children enthusiastically participated and also presented a musical drama. The program concluded at 5:00 PM, with Mr. Irfan delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the absent school officials.
