FRESHERS DAY CELEBRATION-2019

The Department of Social Work, College of Social Sciences and Humanities, Srinivas University, Mangaluru, Karnataka has celebrated 'Freshers Day-2019' on 21st September, 2019. Dr. P.S. Aithal, Vice Chancellor, Srinivas University was the Chief Guest of the Programme who inaugurated the programme. Dr. Laveen D'Mello, Dean of the Department delivered key note address. Students of Second year organised the programme where Ms. Dayana K performed the prayer song, Mr. Alfred Moncy proposed the Vote of Thanks, Mr. Jackson Chacko was the Master of Ceremony, Ms. Sunil Kumar P, Ms. Swarnakeerthi Shenoy K, Vandana V Naik organised group games and refreshments to the Freshers. Games were conducted for both Freshers and Teachers during the event.  

VANAMAHOTSAVA PROGRAMME

College of Social Sciences and Humanities, Srinivas University in connection with 'Unnat Bharat Abhiyan' organised 'Vanamahotsava Programme' at Mukka, Surathkal, Mangaluru taluk, Karnataka on 28th August, 2019. Shri. Shreedhara, Forest Ranger, Mangalore Region inaugurated the programme by planting trees. Dr. Laveena D’Mello, Dean, College of Social Sciences and Humanities, Srinivas University, Ms. Bhavishya, Faculty of the Department, Mr. Pradeep M.D. Coordinator, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Srinivas University were present in the programme. 08 Volunteers participated in the programme and planted 10 fruit plants and watered it.   

SHOPS AND COMMERCIAL ESTABLISHMENTS VISIT

The students of the Second year M.S.W have visited Forum Fiza Mall, Pandeshwar, Mangalore on 22nd August, 2019 to practically observe and understand the functioning of shops and commercial establishments. The Students were exposed to monopoly branded show rooms, multi branded stores, stock dispatch, billing, exhibition of products, specialised stores, tag pricing, taxing policy, safety precautions in the mall, security systems, maintenance department, disposal of waste, offers and price policy, meetings, product sale and return issues practiced in the shopping malls. Mr. Pradeep M.D. and Mr. Gururaj Faculties escorted the students and explained on the spot about the business observations live to the students. 08 Students of the Second Year M.S.W particpated actively in the event.

Second year students of Social Work Department participated in 'Matthe Kalyana' Programme organised on 3rd August, 2019 at Town Hall, Mangaluru organised by Sahamatha Vedike Jagadhguru Shaka Matt, Sanehalli, Hosadurga Taluk, Chithradurga. 

RALLY ON CHILD RIGHTS

The students of Social Work Department participated in the Rally organised by the Child Help Line on 17th May, 2019 in celebration of International Child Help Line Day at Central Railway Station, Mangaluru. 

SPECIAL LECTURE ON CYBER SECURITY

Mr. Pradeep M.D., Assistant Professor, College of Social Sciences & Humanities, Srinivas University has delivered a special lecture on 'Cyber Crime and Cyber Security' at Government First Grade College, Thenkanidiyur, Udupi on 8th April, 2019. Around 40 students of social work and sociology departments attended the programme. The programme is presided by the Principal, HOD, IQAC Chairmen of the Institute. 

FORMATION OF HUMAN CHAIN FOR EDUCATING VOTERS

Srinivas University in collaboration with District Administration, D.K. District & SVEEP Committee, Mangaluru has organised Human Chain from Sasihithlu to Thalapady (40 k.m.) on 7th April, 2019 at 4.30 p.m at Thannirbavi Beach. Students and Staff of Srinivas University participated in the event.
