7th SEPTEMBER-FISH IN THE POND-CLASSROOM ACTIVITY

The Department of Social Sciences and Humanities (MSW), Institute of Management and Commerce, Srinivas University, Mangalore, organized a classroom activity titled “Fish in the Pond” on 07 September 2026. The activity was conducted to encourage interaction, communication, participation, and bonding among students in an enjoyable classroom environment. The program was conducted by Dr. Stutima Basistha during the class hours. In the “Fish in the Pond” activity, students anonymously wrote questions addressed to their fellow classmates. The questions could be fun, interesting, thoughtful, or related to their experiences and opinions. The written questions were collected, and the students to whom the questions were addressed were asked to respond in front of the class. The activity created a lively and friendly atmosphere and encouraged students to express themselves openly. It helped improve communication, confidence, interpersonal interaction, and understanding among classmates. The anonymous format also added an element of curiosity and fun, making students more enthusiastic about participating. Overall, “Fish in the Pond” was an engaging classroom activity that provided students with a refreshing break from regular academic sessions while strengthening peer interaction, classroom bonding, and active participation.
