Unnat Bharat Abhiyan forum of Srinivas University and Srinivas Institute of Rural Reconstruction Agency (SIRRA) in collaboration with Adyar Panchayat, Mangaluru Taluk has organised Survey on Covid Awareness at Adyar Village on 9th February, 2022. The programme was presided over by Dr. P.S. Aithal, Honourable Vice Chancellor of Srinivas University, Mangaluru. The event was inaugurated by Sri. Krishna Naik H., Panchayat Development Officer of Adyar Panchayat. Smt. Zeenath, President of Adyar Panchayat, Dr. Pradeep M.D. Coordinator, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Forum, Srinivas University and Prof. Joyson Prenky Cardoza, Co-Convenor of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Forum were the guests present in the occasion. The ASHA Workers of all the wards were also present during the inaugural programme. Ms. Yakshitha Shetty performed the Master of Ceremony. Students studying in BSW and MSW Courses comprising 33 students actively worked to collect data from the people by visiting around 45 houses in the Ward No 1 & 3. The information about Socio-Economic status of the people, common problems faced by the villagers, awareness on covid-19 and Vaccine status of the family were collected from the public. The students were grouped into 9 groups by nominating group leader and each group visited houses situated in the ward No 1 & 3. After meeting the available members in the family and data were collected by asking questions in Kannada, Tulu and Malayalam languages. It is found that residents were very Cooperative and provided the requisite information to the teams.
