Report on National Girl Child Day

 National Girl Child Day, observed annually on January 24th, was celebrated at Srinivas University on January 25, 2025, in an event organized by the Department of MSW. The program commenced at 9:30 am and featured several dignitaries who addressed the audience on the significance of empowering women and recognizing their contributions to society namely Dr. Venkatesh S. Amin, Dean of the Institute of Management and Commerce; Dr. Sonia Noronha, Dean of the Institute of Port, Shipping, and Logistics Management; Dr. Kavyashree, Head of the Department of MBA; Prof. Shilpa, Head of the Department of BBA; Prof. Sharmila, Head of the Department of B.Com; Prof. Sushmitha, Head of the Department of BAJMC. Prof. Yashashwi A. Ail, Course Coordinator for ACCA in the Department of B.Com was invited as the Resource person .

Key Highlights of the Event:

Dr. Venkatesh S. Amin, Dean of the Institute of Management and Commerce, delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing the importance of celebrating the women of the country.

Dr. Sonia Noronha, Dean of the Institute of Port, Shipping, and Logistics Management, provided a powerful message on the necessity of empowering women.

Prof. Yashashwi A. Ail, Course Coordinator for ACCA in the Department of B.Com, served as the resource person and delivered an insightful lecture on the day's theme, contributing to raising awareness about the importance of National Girl Child Day.

The event was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Joyson Cardoza, Head of the Department of Social Science and Humanities, along with Dr. Laveena Dmello, Dr. Stutima Basistha, and Prof. Ranjith Bhat. Students from the MSW, BAJMC and MBA programs attended the event, engaging in discussions that highlighted the day's significance.

This observance aligns with the nationwide theme for 2025, "Empowering Girls for a Bright Future," reinforcing the commitment to providing girls with equal opportunities to shape their futures and contribute to society. 

Such initiatives are crucial in promoting gender equality and ensuring that the rights and potential of girls are recognized and nurtured across India.
