29th may-2025-Report on Dental Health Camp Organized at Pandeshwar Campus

The Department of Social Science and Humanities under the Institute of Management and Commerce (IMC), in collaboration with Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences (SIDS), jointly organized a Dental Health Camp on 29th May 2025 at 10:00 AM in the Gallery Hall, Pandeshwar Campus.

Oral health plays a vital role in overall well-being and is often overlooked despite its impact on general health. Recognizing the importance of promoting oral hygiene among youth, the Dental Health Camp was conducted to raise awareness and provide preventive care to students through expert screening and advice.

The event commenced with a short awareness programme focusing on the importance of maintaining oral hygiene and the ill-effects of tobacco consumption. This interactive session was specifically tailored for the MSW 1st and 2nd year students, equipping them with essential knowledge to make informed decisions about their oral and general health.

Following the awareness session, an oral health screening was conducted by the dedicated staff and interns from the Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences. The dental team comprised Dr. Sulochana, Dr. Meghana, Dr. Muskan, Dr. Muhshi, Dr. Khazeera, Dr. Prithvi, and Dr. Alisha. The camp provided individual attention to each student, with professional screening and valuable advice on oral care and hygiene practices.

The event was successfully conducted under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Venkatesh S. Amin, Dean, IMC, and Dr. K. Reshma Pai, Dean, SIDS. The programme was efficiently coordinated by Prof. Joyson P. Cardoza, Head of the Department of Social Science and Humanities, with support from faculty members Dr. Laveena D’mello, Dr. Stutima Basistha, and Prof. Vinutha.
