World Environment Day Celebration – 5th June 2025

 As part of the global observance of World Environment Day 2025, Department of MSW, Institute of Management and Commerce, proudly organized a meaningful and inspiring event on the morning of 5th June 2025 at the university campus.

The celebration commenced with a formal inauguration ceremony led by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Registrar – Development, Srinivas University. The program was inaugurated with a symbolic gesture of planting a sapling, emphasizing the university's commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability. Following the inauguration, students from the Department of MSW presented a thematic performance centered on environmental awareness. The performance highlighted the importance of ecological balance, the impact of human actions on nature, and the role of youth in environmental protection.

Continuing the spirit of the day, students actively participated by planting saplings across the campus, contributing personally and collectively towards greener surroundings.

The celebration further progressed with a Poster Making Competition on the theme Sollution to Plastic Pollution". The competition showcased the creative expressions of students and their concern for nature through impactful visuals and messages.

The entries were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges:

Mr. Harish Rajkumar, Environmentalist & National Dairy Development Statistical Officer.

Dr. Vijayalakshmi, Associate Professor, Institute of Education, Srinivas University.

Prof. Sushmitha, HOD, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, IMC, Srinivas University.

The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Venkatesh S. Amin, Dean, Prof. Joyson, Head of the Department of Social Science and Humanities, Program Coordinators Dr Stutima and Prof. Vinutha H K. It was also graced by the presence of Deans, Heads of various Departments, Program Coordinators, and faculty members of the department Dr.Laveena D’Mello and Prof.Ranjith Bhat, who actively witnessed and supported the proceedings. Their encouragement and guidance added significance to the celebration and inspired the students to engage with environmental causes more proactively.

The program concluded with a note of appreciation and a collective pledge by the students and staff to protect and preserve the environment for future generations.
