A community health camp was successfully
organized by the second-year MSW students (Irfan, angel sony, akhila, and
sarayana) in collaboration with Srinivas Hospital
at Padubidri. The primary objective of the camp was to promote preventive
healthcare, create awareness about common health issues, and provide basic
medical services to the local community. The camp witnessed active participation
from residents, who benefited from free health check-ups, including blood
pressure, blood sugar, and general physical examinations conducted by qualified
medical professionals. The MSW students played a crucial role in mobilizing the
community, coordinating activities, maintaining records, and assisting the
medical team. They also conducted awareness sessions on hygiene, nutrition, and
lifestyle-related diseases, emphasizing the importance of early diagnosis and
regular health monitoring. The collaborative effort not only addressed
immediate health concerns but also strengthened community engagement and
highlighted the role of social work professionals in promoting holistic
well-being. Overall, the camp was a meaningful initiative that contributed to improving
health awareness and accessibility of basic healthcare services in the
Padubidri area.
