The Department of Social Sciences and Humanities (MSW), Institute of Management and Commerce, Srinivas University, Mangalore, organised an Industrial Visit to Kalabavi Cashews on 21 August 2026 to provide students with practical exposure to industrial operations and workplace practices. The visit was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Venkatesh S. Amin, Dean, and Prof. Joyson Prenky Cardoza, Head of the Department (HOD), with the active support and participation of Dr. Stutima Basista, Dr. Laveena D’Mello, and Prof. Ranjith Bhat.The programme was organised to help students understand the manufacturing, processing, grading, quality control, and packaging of cashews. Students observed the different stages of production and gained practical knowledge of how raw cashews are processed into finished products and carefully packaged for distribution.The industrial visit provided valuable experiential learning and helped students connect classroom concepts with real-world industrial practices. As MSW students, they also gained an understanding of the importance of teamwork, employee roles, workplace discipline, safety, and organisational functioning.Overall, the visit was an informative and enriching experience that enhanced the students' practical knowledge and provided them with a better understanding of industrial work environments.
