Mangaluru: Srinivas University IMC celebrates Onam Festival "Tharangam"

 Mangaluru, Aug 30: Srinivas University Institute of Management and Commerce, Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, Institute of Port, Shipping and Supply Chain Management celebrated the Onam festival with great enthusiasm and splendour. The event, named "Tharangam," took place on August 26 at the City Campus Pandeshwar.

Prof Venkatesh Amin, Dean of the Institute of Management and Commerce, Dr. Sonia Noronha Dean of the Institute of Port, Shipping and Supply Chain Management, inaugurated the program. The event was vibrant and filled with joyous moments that captured the essence of the vibrant Onam festival. The event showcased the rich cultural diversity and sartorial prowess of the students, further enhancing the vibrant ambience of the Onam festival celebration. Dr Laveena D mello, Dr Vidya N. Associate Professor, Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof Shilpa K, Prof Sharmila Shetty, Prof Sagar were present. Faculties and students enjoyed the event.

Mangalore: Srinivas University Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities marked the occasion of the International Day of Democracy on September 18th, 2023 with a thought-provoking and enlightening event held at the Srinivas University City Campus in Pandeshwara. Dr. Laveena Dmello, Professor and Head of the Department, Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, presided over the program. Mr. Alexander Joseph, MSW student, had the privilege of reading out the oath, symbolizing the commitment to upholding democratic principles. This solemn moment emphasized the significance of democracy and civic responsibility. Students from MSW, BSW, and BAJMC, actively engaged in the event. Prof. Joyson Prenky Cardoza, Prof. Sushmitha, and Prof. Prajna were present. Mr. Arun Kurikose, an MSW student compared the program.

Workshop on “Changing Concepts in Management”

 Mangalore: Srinivas University Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities organised a “Changing Concepts in Management” Workshop on Thursday 10, August 2023 at Srinivas University City Campus Pandeshwara. Prof. Meghashree, Assistant Professor, Institute of Port Shipping and Supply Chain Management, Srinivas University, were the Resource Person.  Seasons consisted of the Changing Concept of Management like Kaizen, TQM, Six Sigma and 5 S . Dr. Laveena Dmello, Professor and Head of ISSH, Prof. Joyson Prenky Cardoza, Programme Convenor, Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Sushmita and Prof. Prajna, Assistant Professor, Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities were  present. Student Allen welcomed the gathering, Sreya proposed the vote of thanks, and Jyothi compered the event. MSW and Journalism students were present.

Mangalore: Independence Day was celebrated by Talapady gram panchayat and Srinivas University together by a tree planting program under Koti Vruksha Abhiyaan on August 15, 2023, at Talapady Devipura Hindu Rudra Bhumi.

T. Ismail, president of the gram panchayat hosted the flag at the panchayat office. Amrita Sarovar Kere Bhajangre A flag hoisting program was conducted here by the panchayat. Pushpavati Shetty, Vice President, hoisted the flag.

Panchayat Development Officer Keshav Pujari, Accounts Assistant. Manjappa HH. Srinivas University Assistant Professor Joyson Prenky Cardoza, elected members of Panchayat, school children, Panchayat staff, Ganthapala, Srinivas University MSW students, villagers were present.

 Mangalore: Srinivas University Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities organised a “Placement Preparation” Workshop on Thursday 13, July 2023 at Srinivas University City Campus Pandeshwara. Prof. Venkatesh Amin, Dean, Institute of Management and Commerce, Srinivas University, and Dr. Abhishek N., Research Professor, Institute of Management and Commerce, Srinivas University were the Resource Persons.  Seasons consisted of practical face-to-face interview, CV analysis, and how to prepare for a stress interview. Prof. Joyson Prenky Cardoza, Programme Convener, Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities was present. Student Aswani welcomed the gathering, Shaeer proposed the vote of thanks, and Sona and Vrinda compered the event.
