3rd & 4th0-June-2026-2 Days Workshop on EMPOWERING FUTURE SOCIAL WORKERS THROUGH KNOWLEDGE, AWARENESS, AND ADVOCACY!

The Department of Social Science and Humanities, Srinivas University, successfully organized a 12-hour, two-day Human Rights Workshop for I and II Year MSW students on 3rd and 4th June 2026. The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Dean Dr. Venkatesh S. Amin and Prof. Joyson Prenky Cardoza, Head of the Department of Social Science and Humanities. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Stutima Basista, Assistant Professor, with the support of Prof. Ranjith Bhat, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Science and Humanities. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ understanding of contemporary human rights issues and their relevance to social work practice. Expert resource persons Mr. Venkatesh R., Ms. Keerthana Sathyan, and Ms. Anaswara T. delivered insightful sessions on human rights, digital rights, cybercrimes, workplace rights, LGBTQIA+ rights, and climate justice. The sessions incorporated interactive discussions, case studies, and practical examples that encouraged active participation and critical thinking among students. Through meaningful engagement with real-life scenarios and expert perspectives, participants gained a deeper understanding of the principles of equality, dignity, justice, and human rights advocacy. The workshop successfully strengthened students’ awareness of social justice issues and enhanced their commitment to promoting and protecting human rights as future social work professionals.
